I'm not sure how to fix this- I would like to play with the patches in place, but I can't even play the base game now. I uninstalled TA completely, permanently deleted all the files I could find that the patches had left behind, and reinstalled the base version of TA from Steam. I tried uninstalling the patches completely, but some files were left behind, and when I started the base game I had the same issues. While it was the last major title from Cavedog Entertainment, an expansion pack, 'The Iron Plague', was released in 2000. On release, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms reached the top of the weekly game sales chart. I could only scroll up or to the left with the mouse (arrow keys worked), and when I put the cursor over any units or over a construction menu, no information (health, cost, etc.) would show up where they normally would. Total Annihilation: Kingdoms or TA:K is a medieval fantasy real time strategy game created and released by Cavedog Entertainment on June 25, 1999. The game started, but it still said v3.1, and when I started a skirmish the map was much bigger than it had been before (zoomed out further), and the construction/order menus took up less space on the screen. It didn't work, so I uninstalled the patches and reinstalled directly into the Total Annihilation folder with the original game. I'm on Windows 8 and downloaded the patches to C:>Cavedog, then tried to copy the files into C>Program Files x86>Steam>steamapps>common>Total Annihilation. Hi All, I just downloaded TA on Steam, and it worked fine until I tried to apply the TA Patch Resources v1.0 and TA Patch v3.9.02 Beta, as well as the Total Mayhem mod.
